Fashion, made social
Building the full visual language for a fashion social app, mascot, badges, emoji, and merchandise, for a team split across India, the UK, and Mauritius.
- Design
myBataz was built in 2017–18, the same window in which Instagram was cementing itself as the default home for fashion discovery, and fashion brands were racing to build identity systems (mascots, sticker sets, gamified badges) built for a generation raised on messaging apps rather than magazines. A standalone fashion social network competing for that attention needed a visual system built to carry a fast-scrolling, image-first feed, not just sit still on a splash screen.
The challenge
myBataz needed a complete identity system for a fashion-focused social network built for a young, mobile-first audience, everything from a mascot to an emoji library to user badges, developed for a distributed founding team.
The approach
Working as an embedded design partner, we built an elephant mascot in male and female versions, a full animated emoji and sticker set, tiered user badges, stationery, and merchandise, refined through direct rounds of founder feedback.
The outcome
The system carried myBataz’s brand and product across its most active development period.
“Bataz's testimonial is coming soon.”
