Everything starts somewhere
Every brief arrives with a history attached. A deck from the last agency. A moodboard someone’s cousin made. A competitor’s website open in another tab. None of it is useless, but none of it is a starting point either.
We start from zero. Not because the past doesn’t matter, but because copying it forward is how brands end up sounding like everyone else in their category.
Blank slate means no assumptions about what a brand in your industry is “supposed” to look like. No ego about whose idea wins. Just the problem, stated plainly, and the work of solving it.
Old-school values. New-age thinking. That tension is the point.
Got a brief this kind of thinking would help with?
